Richland County: Detainee at Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center found dead

RICHLAND CO. SC (WOLO)– Richland County Officials say a detainee at the Alvin S. Glenn detention center has been found dead.

Officials say detention center staff discovered the detainee unresponsive in his cell at 11:15 a.m. Monday.

According to county officials, the detention center’s on-site medical team immediately responded and began life-saving measures to revive the detainee but were unsuccessful. The detainee did not have a cellmate at the time he was discovered, say officials.

The Richland County Coroner’s Office is investigating.
