Fire crews put out Richland County home fire

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Columbia-Richland Fire Department crews found a fire breaking through the roof of a home early Tuesday morning, said the fire department.

First shift crews were dispatched to a home on Melody Lane for the report of a fire on Tuesday, Aug.6.

Officials said one occupant escaped the property safely and had to be taken by Richland County EMS for minor injuries.

The fire was brought under control but the home was left with significant damages.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Richland County Fire Marshal’s Office.
