SC man gets 20 years for DUI, killing pedestrian

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — A 49-year-old Spartanburg man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after he pled guilty to driving drunk and killing a pedestrian walking along a road.

Prosecutors say Addie Thilavanh was involved in a Sept. 19 wreck that killed 25-year-old Cory Cole of Spartanburg.

Thilavanh pled guilty to felony driving under the influence with a death.

Cole was walking along a road in the Camp Croft community in the early evening when he was truck.

Highway patrol officers reported Thilavanh’ s blood alcohol level was nearly triple the legal limit.
