Online Petition Calls for McMaster to Renounce Membership to All-White Country Club
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – A petition is circulating online to try convince South Carolinian’s to demand the state’s new Governor renounce his longstanding membership to an all-white golf club.
The petition on Change.org goes on to say that: Gov. McMaster has no plans of quitting and distancing himself from this discriminatory “members only” country club.
According to the website, Hamilton Grant started the petition that McMaster leave the Forest Lake Club in Columbia and now has over 583 supporters.
McMaster was sworn in Tuesday night following former Governor Nikki Haley’s appointment as Ambassador to the United nations.
