NORTH, SOUTH CAROLINA – A singer, dancer, actress and activist, Eartha Mae Kitt was born on January 17th, 1927 in the town North, of South Carolina.
She began her career in 1943 when she made her first appearance on Broadway.
Kitt won two Emmys, two Grammys and was also was nominated for several Tony awards.
She died in 2008, at the age of 81.
