Sumter woman charged after man shot, killed

SUMTER, SC (WOLO) — According to the Sumter Police Department, a local woman is charged with murder following a domestic-related shooting death Sunday morning.

Officers were called to a Putter Drive home before 6:30 a.m. on Sunday when they found a woman, Jasmine Symone Woods, 23, inside and a man lying on a floor with a gunshot wound.

Antoin Pugh, 34, of the residence, was treated at the scene and taken to Prisma Health Tuomey where he later died.

Information indicates the suspect and Pugh were in a relationship at one time. Officers believe the estranged couple were arguing before shots were fired.

Woods, who lives at another address on Putter Drive, was placed in custody and booked at the county detention center.

An investigation is continuing.
