Uber to start offering driverless rides

(CNN)– You may soon be able to request a self-driving car ride from Uber.

Uber and Cruise have announced a partnership to bring autonomous vehicles to the Uber platform.

Cruise said in a release it will provide Chevy Bolt self-driving cars to the ride-share giant.

The partnership is set to launch next year.

A cruise spokeswoman said the company still plans to relaunch its own driverless ride-hailing service and app, despite the Thursday announcement.
