Coroner Identifies 3 Killed in St. Stephen Fire

ST. STEPHEN, S.C. (WCIV) — Crews from multiple agencies responded to a mobile home fire around 3:33 a.m. Thursday.
According to Dan Barb with Berkeley County EMS, the Majority of the fire was out by 6 a.m. but there was till some fire under the floor boards.
Our crew on the scene learned from officials that there were four people in the double-wide trailer on Shady Trail Lane.
The coroner confirmed around 7:45 a.m. that three of those people were killed. One was taken to hospital with minor burns.
The victims were identified as 44-year-old Christina King , 24-year-old Daniel King and 14-year-old Lakala King.
Coroner Bill Salisbury said he looked in the barred window of the double wide and could see the three bodies inside.
“There’s no healing this hurt”, a cousin of the victims said. The coroner confirmed the fourth victim will soon be released from MUSC.
SLED agents have arrived on scene and will determine what caused the fire.
The victims will be taken to MUSC for autopsy.
A chaplain was called to the scene along with State Law Enforcement Division investigators.
