Controversial speakers hold event on USC’s campus
A controversial event on the campus of the University of South Carolina drew a modest turnout Wednesday night.
Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)– A controversial event on the campus of the University of South Carolina drew a modest turnout Wednesday night.
In what was billed as a “Roast of Kamala Harris” at the Russell House speakers Milo Yiannopoulos, a far-right political commentator, and Gavin Mcinnes founder of the Proud Boys used racial and sexist slurs while discussing the upcoming election.
Yiannopoulos also announced he’s suing 27 students & 37 faculty for “their role in suppressing speech on campus.”
Some students got up and left during the presentation.
Earlier in the day lawmakers, students, and others held a demonstration protesting the event and thousands signed a petition prior to the event in an effort to stop it.
