Port workers to strike on Tuesday

(CNN)– Tens of Thousand port workers from Maine to Texas set to go on strike on Tuesday.

If they walk off the job, the flow of a wide variety of goods could stop at almost all the cargo ports on the east and gulf coast.

That could possibly drive up prices again.

The U.S. Maritime Association, which represents the major shipping lines, terminal operators, and port authorities, is on one side of the negotiating table.

The other side is the International Longshoremen’s Association, which represents 85 thousand members.
