More Than 300 Nonprofits to Benefit From Midlands Gives
COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)- The largest charitable fundraisers in South Carolina raises money and awareness for local nonprofits in 11 Midlands counties.
One of the non profits who will be benefiting from Midlands Gives says a little goes a long way.
“This actually allows everyone to be a philanthropist for one day,”Lila Anna Sauls, President & CEO of St. Lawrence Place said.
St. Lawrence Place is the home for 30 at risk and homeless families. This time of year organizers say funds are low. Thankfully each year Midlands Gives helps raises funds to help keep things up.
“We work with up to 60 at risk and homeless children everyday,” Sauls said. “The Midlands Gives Donations over the next 24 hours will actually go to this program and help support the staff, field trips and the supplies we need throughout the year to keep it going.”
For 25 years this organization has been helping families get back on their feet through a 2 year program.
“We work with the entire family to empower our families to become independent and go back into the community as productive members of society,” Sauls said.
The 24 hour online giving event will help provide for the Children program at St. Lawrence Place.
“The children we work with at St. Lawrence place have honestly survived for most of their lives with their parents,” Sauls said. “What we try to do here is give them a stable environment.”
Donating is simple, through the Midlands Gives website.
