CPD Investigation of Five Points Assault Clears Moore and Samuel, Warrant for Dread
The Columbia Police Department has put out a warrant for former Gamecocks linebacker Jalen Dread for Simple Assault after being accused of assaulting a male at the “Five Points Saloon” last Saturday.
Current USC players Deebo Samuel and Skai Moore have been linked to the story. CPD investigators state that Moore, a redshirt-senior linebacker was present at the establishment, but wasn’t involved in the assault. Samuel, a redshirt-junior wide receiver, was not present on site while the indecent took place.

Columbia Police Investigators have an outstanding arrest warrant for a 20-year-old suspect accused of assaulting a male victim at a Five Points business last weekend.
Jalen Antwan Dread (DOB: 8-9-1996) is wanted for Simple Assault after an incident on April 29, 2017 at 812 Harden Street. (Five Points Saloon). The warrant has been entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database.
After reviewing surveillance video and conducting several interviews related to the case, investigators have determined that Dread struck the victim multiple times in the face after an argument inside the business. The victim refused medical treatment at the scene.
Investigators have also determined that Deebo Samuel was not at the incident location during the altercation. Skai Moore was present, but did not participate in the assault.
