McDonald’s finds fix for broken McFlurry machines

(CNN)– It has come down to a court ruling but the issue of broken McFlurry machines at McDonald’s may finally be solved.

McDonald’s says its restaurants weren’t able to fix their soft serve ice cream machines because the company that manufactured the machines owned the copyright and exclusive rights to repair them until now.

Starting on Monday, Oct. 28, a copyright exemption will go into effect giving restaurants the right to repair the machines.

The exemption bypasses digital locks that had prevented the machines from being fixed.
