Alcohol sales on the decline
(CNN)– It is back to reality for the alcohol industry.
The incredible surge in sales it saw during the Covid-19 pandemic has come to a screeching halt.
Inflation-weary customers are now pushing back on expensive booze, and it is hurting bottler’s bottom lines.
Some of the world’s biggest alcohol makers have recently reported declines in volumes or sales.
According to a report from drink analysis firm IWSR, overall volumes fell for the first seven months of 2024.
All major categories were affected including Tequila, American Whiskey, Beer, and Wine.
