17-month-old SC boy hit by van and killed

LANCASTER, S.C. (AP) — Troopers say a 17-month-old boy was killed after he was struck by a van in a Lancaster County mobile home park.

Authorities say Cody Livesay ran in front of the van while playing at his home around 5:45 p.m. Thursday. The 23-year-old woman driving the van was not hurt.

The coroner’s office says the boy died from head injuries at the scene of the crash.

Investigators didn’t release information on where the boy’s parents were at the time of his death.

Troopers are still investigating the crash.
