‘Demure’ named as 2024 word of the year by Dictionary.com

(CNN)– Dictionary.com announced its 2024 ‘Word of the Year’. And that word is ‘Demure’.

‘Demure’ went viral over the Summer, thanks mostly to a social media and beauty influencer.

The company says the word usually describes reserved behavior, but is now also associated with a person’s appearance.

Other contenders this year were ‘Brainrot’, ‘Weird’ and ‘Brat’.
