COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) – August is “Child Support Awareness Month,” and according to one report, South Carolina has plenty of children in need of help.

According to wallethub.com South Carolina ranks 14th in the nation when it comes to statistics regarding the number of underprivileged children.

Surveyors factored in the percentage of children in single parent homes, those in homes below the poverty line, and reports of maltreated children.
