COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) –

After customers complained that a downtown Columbia business smelled like weed, the Columbia Police Department’s Organized Crime and Narcotics (OCN) arrested a man living in a residence above the store.

Columbia Police arrested 31-year-old Brian Canty Monday afternoon in his 1601 Main Street apartment after multiple complaints were made about the Mast General Store, located right underneath Lofts at Louries, smelling like marijuana.

Once OCN obtained a search warrant, the searched and seized drugs and cash totaling more than $115,300.

Canty is charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of a schedule II controlled substance.
