Push to Remove Confederate Statues

Columbia, SC (WOLO) — The fatal violence that erupted in Charlottesville, Virginia on Saturday has increased the push to remove confederate items from around the country.

The Civil War ended more than 150-years ago, but the Confederacy remains memorialized with many statues, markers and monuments.

Activists and officials in states from North Carolina to Virginia and Florida are in various stages of talks to remove more Confederate monuments.
