Vaccinations Awareness Week

Columbia, SC (WOLO) — As the little ones get ready to return to school one there’s one “shot” to make sure your children stay healthy.
Tuesday Morning the South Carolina immunization Coalition along with
DHEC kicked off vaccination awareness week at Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital.
One reminder that book bags and pencils aren’t the only thing you need to have in your back to school arsenal.

Doctors say this event is not only for the children. Medical professionals encourage adults to also get vaccinations for meningitis – shingles – pneumonia and especially whooping cough they say appears to be on the rise in older adults.
