Driver dies after a collision on I-26 West in Richland Co. Monday

RICHLAND CO., S.C. (WOLO) – Highway Patrol says a driver is dead from a collision on I-26 West Monday night.

Corporal Nick Pye says it happened around mile marker 97 at 7:20 p.m.

According to troopers, the driver of a 2003 Chevy Pickup truck was travelling west when they ran off the left side of the road and struck a guard rail.

The driver later died from their injuries at the hospital.

The Richland County Coroner’s Office is working to identify the victim. The incident remains under investigation.
