Lexington County Coroner identifies person who died in Gaston area two-vehicle incident

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the person who died in a two-vehicle incident in the Gaston area of Lexington County, said the coroner’s office.

The collision happened in the 3400 block of Fish Hatchery Road around 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday, December 24.

According to Coroner Fisher, William Frederick Orris, 73, of Gaston was traveling southbound on Fish Hatchery Road when he was hit by a vehicle traveling northbound on Fish Hatchery Road.

Orris was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office, the South Carolina Highway Patrol, and the South Carolina Highway Patrol MAIT are continuing to investigate the incident.
