Tense Moments Follow Trump Rally
Phoenix, AZ (WOLO) — President Donald Trump held a rally Tuesday night in Phoenix, Arizona for a host of his supporters. And while the speech was peaceful inside, outside was met with large protests and violence. This all coming just 24 hours after the President spoke publicly about healing and peace in the Country.
Some called the President “angry and divisive.”
Gas canisters, bottles and rocks were thrown at Police outside of the rally where
officers responded by using pepper spray and smoke grenades to disperse the groups.
During the speech, President Trump touched on various topics including back tracking on some of his past statements on the deadly Charlottesville violence some say initially sparked the outcry.
The President also discussed a possibility of a Government shutdown over funding for the border wall. The highly debated topic of Monuments and Memorials also came up during the rally where the president said in part, “They’re trying to take away our culture. They’re trying to take away our history, and the weak leaders they do it overnight.”
