Lexington County Coroner Identifies Victim in Fatal Moped Crash

LEXINGTON COUNTY,SC (WOLO)-The Lexington County Coroner has identified the person who died when a moped was struck by a pickup truck.

The crash happened at 2:10am on US 321 near Toole Smith Road in Lexington County.

According to Lexington County Coroner, Margaret Fisher, Jessica Lynn Dunn, 26, was thrown off the moped that was hit from behind by a 2005 Dodge pickup while traveling south on U.S. 321.

Dunn, who was wearing a helmet when the collision occurred died at the scene due to multiple traumatic injuries. However the driver of the moped was not wearing a helmet, and was airlifted to Palmetto Richland for his injuries.

The collision remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
