McMaster Signs Two Executive Orders

Columbia, SC (WOLO) — It’s been a busy Wednesday for Governor Henry McMaster who signed several Executive Orders this afternoon.

One signature, put pen to paper in an executive order aimed at keeping refugees from entering South Carolina.

According to the Post and the Courier, The travel ban set in place by President Donald Trump is the driving force behind the Governor’s request submitted to the Department of Homeland Security and could block anyone coming into the state from Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen.

A Second Executive Order signed Wednesday afternoon involved the suspension of a Public Servant accused of moral turpitude.

Governor McMaster has temporarily suspended Michael Singleton from his role as a member of the Town of Norway Town Council.
According to documents filed in court, 42 year old Singleton attempted to stop an officer from issuing a citation back in April.
According to court documents Singleton approached the on duty officer telling him he was quote ” The Police Commissioner” and was in fact “his boss”.

The suspension is reportedly in effect until the matter has been resolved.
