High Winds, Rain, Downed Trees in Midlands

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– The high winds from Tropical Storm Irma are toppling trees in parts of the Midlands, including the City of Columbia.

Columbia Police are working several downed trees, including this one which fell on top of several power lines at Cyprus & Maple.

ABC Columbia Crews were also on scene of a downed tree near Kirby Street and a tree that went through a building off Devine and Henderson street.

According to Columbia City officials, if you notice a downed tree, limbs or a storm drain which is blocked by debris, please contact Customer Care at 545-3300. For emergencies, please call 911 and for non-emergencies, please call 803-252-2911.
