Irma Blamed for Fatal I-77 Accident

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) – Officials blame tropical storm Irma for a fatal accident on I-77 Monday (9/11).

Authorities say Zhen Tain, 21, hit another car near the Bluff Road exit causing his car to overturn which trapped him inside.

The National Weather Service says at the time of the accident there was heavy rain and wind gusts up to 40 miles per hour.

Officials say speed was a factor.
