CLEMSON, S.C. (WOLO) – Clemson and Louisville’s top five showdown in Death Valley featured one of the most exciting and dramatic matchups of 2016.
Lower Richland alum Marcus Edmond’s game-saving tackle with 0:33 remaining in the fourth quarter sealed a 42-36 CU victory. It would be the difference maker in the Atlantic Division standings that campaign, allowing the Tigers to play for and later win the ACC and National Titles.
While Clemson went on to win it all in the College Football Playoff, Cardinals QB Lamar Jackson would play his way to the Heisman Trophy, awarded to the best player in the sport that season.
On Saturday night, the two teams will further develop their young rivalry by playing for the fourth time, this time, under the lights Saturday at 8:00 p.m. in Kentucky. While the (3) Tigers have won each of the first three meetings, they’re taking nothing for granted before their second top 15 showdown in as many weeks against the (14) Cardinals.
