SC AG Opposes Sanctuary Cities
Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)–South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson says states should have the right to oppose so-called “sanctuary cities” withing their borders.
Sanctuary cities are those that limit cooperation with the federal government in enforcing immigration law.
Wednesday Wilson joined a multi-state coalition saying sanctuary cities,”defy the rule of law and deprive law enforcement of the tools necessary for effective civil and criminal enforcement.”
According to the Los Angeles Times, some police chiefs support sanctuary cities saying they keep crime down saying crimes involving undocumented immigrants would go unreported if people were targeted only for their immigration status.
