88-year-old SC man dies after golf cart accident

FORT MILL, S.C. (AP) — An 88-year-old Rock Hill man has died after he was pinned under a golf cart earlier this week.

Fort Mill Police Capt. Bryan Zachary says Robert Munroe died early Wednesday at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C.

Munroe had been pinned while he was loading a woman’s golf bag onto a cart at Springfield Golf Club in Fort Mill on Monday. Zachary says Munroe was working as a golf cart attendant at the course.

Officials aren’t sure how he got pinned under the cart.

Zachary says officials are waiting for the coroner to determine the cause of death.
