SLED Investigating SCANA, Santee Cooper

Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)–  A spokesperson for State Law Enforcement Division says SLED has opened an investigation into possible criminal activity in connection with the abandonment of construction of two nuclear reactors at VC Summer Nuclear facility.

SLED Spokesperson Kathryn Richardson says the investigation was in response to a request by House Speaker Jay Lucas.

In August SCE&G and Santee Cooper made the decision to discontinue construction on the reactors causing the layoffs of 6,000 workers.
