Search for Missing Man, 10-Month-Old Son

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – Deputies are asking for the public’s help to find a Midlands man and his 10-month-old son.
Deputies say Mark Barnes II sent his fiance a text around 7:30pm Thursday, telling her that he and their little boy were on their way home from Downtown Columbia.
The woman says dinner was on the stove in their Hopkins home when she arrived around 8:30pm, but Mark and her son were no where to be found.
Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott says Barnes has not returned any texts or calls from his fiance since Thursday.
We’re also told he has a serious medical condition.
Barnes was last seen in the Forest Acres area around 4pm Thursday.
Deputies say Barnes may be driving a Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck. It’s the color – black – and from the model year 2000.
The truck has a South Carolina tag that reads: U26773.
Deputies say it may have a black tool box in the truck bed along with damage to the front bumper on the passenger’s side.
If you have any information on Barnes or his son’s whereabouts, you’re asked to call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
