Fire damages Greenville apartment buildings

GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — A fire damaged several buildings of a Greenville apartment complex, but none of the residents were hurt.

The fire started shortly after 9:30 p.m. Friday at Lake Crest Apartments.

Wade Hampton Fire Department assistant chief David Bailey says several firefighters were treated for heat-related problems at the scene.

At least three buildings were damage. Each building has a dozen units.

Vernessa Davis says she was at work when the fire started and her sister called her. Davis says she appears to have lost everything.
