Suspect Charged With Holding Woman Captive for 3 Months

Lexington, S.C. (WOLO)–Lexington County deputies have arrested a man they say held a woman captive for three months in his Pelion Home.

Sheriff James Metts says Paul Rawl is charged with criminal sexual conduct, criminal domestic violence, and kidnapping.

Investigators say between July 1st and October 16th Rawl, a convicted sex offender, sexually assaulted the victim nine times a day while forcing her to take Xanex, a prescription drug used to treat anxiety.

Deputies say Rawl also pointed a bow and arrow at the victim and threatened to kill her.

According to Sheriff Metts, the woman was able to escape after she persuaded Rawl to take her to a medical facility for treatment.
