COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– If you are planning on getting a real Christmas tree this year, you’d better head to a tree farm now, say experts.

According to the National Christmas Tree Foundation, there are fewer trees to go around this year.

Farmers say it takes seven to ten years to grow a sellable tree.

Seven years ago, however, was the height of the great recession and farmers were planting fewer trees.
