Governor Henry McMaster declares May Hurricane Preparedness Month

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Governor Henry McMaster has declared May Hurricane Preparedness Month.

The 2025 hurricane season begins June 1st.

Officials with the South Carolina Emergency Management Division urge you to build an emergency kit with items like bottled water, and non-perishable food.

Also, make an evacuation plan and know how to stay informed during an emergency.
