Berkeley High fan missed only 1 game since 1968
MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (AP) — Call Billy Ott the ultimate fan of the Berkeley High School Stags in Moncks Corner.
The Post and Courier of Charleston reports (http://bit.ly/pcBVXc ) that Ott has missed only one Berkeley game since 1968. He only missed that one game in 1996 because he was in the hospital being treated for cancer.
The 61-year-old Ott is an appraiser for the Berkeley County Tax Assessors Office and has now attended 523 games played by his favorite team.
He estimates he’s traveled about 40,000 miles to see the Stags. He’s visited 60 high school stadiums and has watched the team win four state championships over the years.
