What in the World with Doug Currin
(CNN) — In tonight’s what in the world file, there is a saying, “I found the trophy store and now i’m good at everything!” … well, okay, the saying is a Doug original but that’s not important right now.
A hard working student, Leah Carrington Boney, who just graduated from my alma mater, George Mason University just outside of Washington, D.C., with a PhD she ordered her doctoral cap and gown for graduation, which by the way, cost around $1200… and a porch pirate came and took it before she could get home and open it. ha! Well, jokes on you porch pirate you just stole something from the trophy store.
Leah went to the local news in D.C., and when the story got out that it was her $1200 cap and gown, the thief returned it back to the porch! but not quick enough. Leah’s father was a PhD, so when he passed, she saved his cap and gown and when leah’s sister got her doctorate so her sister wore it. Now, she’s finding herself in it for her graduation. So, if anyone at George Mason is looking for a doctoral cap and gown “like new” contact Leah.
