SC National Guard welcomes 30th Adjutant General

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– There is a new Adjutant General in South Carolina.
Over the weekend, a ceremony was held to honor Major General Van McCarty, who has served as the 29th Adjutant General of South Carolina and Military Department since 2019.
McCarty has given over 42 years of service, graduating from the Citadel in 1982.
Greenville native Major General Robin Stilwell has taken McCarty’s place as the 30th Adjutant General of South Carolina.
