The Business of Giving Back

Revante’s on Millwood Avenue has spent the last year teaming up with The Women’s Shelter in an effort to give women who need a helping hand – a leg up. The consignment shop celebrated their one year anniversary on Thursday by offering a 50 percent discount on allof their merchandise. 100 percent of their proceedds will go to benefit the women’s shelter that welcome women who are looking for refuge but have no where else to turn. The owner of Revante’s Debbie McDaniel says she is fortunate to be able to help so many women who sometimes come into the shelter with no more than the clothes on their backs. Exec. Director of The Women’s Shelter, Kathy Riley says she has the best job in the world showing women that “No one can take your person-hood. You can give it away, but you can reclaim it too”. While celebrating – a solemn moment for Jennifer Wilson – A USC professor who police believe was murdered trying to leave a domestic violent relationship. McDaniel says Wilson was a beautiful woman who also gave back to so many.
