Pregnant woman among two wounded in Dalzell shooting
DALZELL, SC (WOLO) — According to deputies with the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, a drive-by shooting late Saturday evening left two people wounded at a residence on Wentworth Court.
At approximately 10:28 p.m. on June 21, dispatchers say they received a report of shots fired at the Dalzell home.
Deputies say they arrived to find two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Authorities confirmed that one of the victims is pregnant. One victim is in critical condition.
Deputies say they rendered aid until EMS arrived. Both victims were transported to area hospitals in the Midlands.
“This was a reckless and violent act that put lives at risk and has deeply affected a family and this community,” said Sheriff Anthony Dennis, adding, “We are committed to finding those responsible and bringing them to justice. We urge anyone with information to come forward.”
The shooting remains under active investigation.
