Orangeburg School Threats Being Investigated

Orangeburg, SC (WOLO)— The Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office is investigating threats made on social media where a post from an unnamed person claimed they were going to start shooting in the Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School “starting with the slow kids first” The post goes on to say “get ready #Purge”.

The Sheriff’s department posted a response on their Facebook page where they stated that they are aware of the current threats made at Wilkinson and another made against Lake Marion High School. Authorities say they are currently working with both the school district and SLED in hopes of tracking down the person or people behind the threats.  In the same Facebook Post, Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said “We want to community to know we are taking this serious and will ensure the perpetrators sees justice in court.”
