MEMPHIS, TN (WOLO) – Fifty years ago today (Wednesday 4/4), the Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King Junior was assassinated in Memphis, Tennessee.

Rallies commemorating his life were held across the country as people rally for peace and justice.

Many reflected on how far we’ve come in 50 years but also taking note of how far we still have to go.
