Three injured in shooting at child’s birthday party
SUMTER, SC (WOLO) — A child’s birthday celebration ended in gunfire Saturday night, leaving three people injured, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were dispatched around 10:34 p.m. to reports of a shooting at a mobile home park in the 4400 block of Broad Street. Witnesses told investigators that gunfire was exchanged following a dispute involving residents.
Emergency Medical Services transported two of the victims to Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital. The third individual was flown by helicopter to Prisma Health Richland Hospital. The conditions of the three individuals who were wounded were not immediately known Sunday.
The incident remains under investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
