Lexington-Blythewood Baseball Now On Wednesday

LEXINGTON, S.C. (LHS SID) — Due to potential bad weather, the 3rd-ranked Lexington baseball team‘s season opener against No. 2 Blythewood as part of the Red Bank Invitational (RBI) hosted by White Knoll High School has been moved to a 7:30 p.m. start on Wednesday. The opener was slated for Thursday. The game is a rematch of last year‘s best-of-three AAAA state championship series. Lexington beat Blythewood 4-0 in the third game before nearly 7,000 at Carolina Stadium. The Wildcats are 3-1 against the Bengals under Head Coach Brian Hucks having also won a 12-9 decision in 2012. The Wildcats finished 2013 with a 28-5 record and earned a top 10 final ranking in every national poll. Lexington begins the season ranked 46th nationally in the USA Today preseason poll. Blythewood finished 27-7 last spring.
