Gen Z is fueling vinyl sales

(CNN)– When it comes to music many young people are going old school.

Vinyl record sales have risen by an average of 18% per year over the past half-decade.

That’s according to a report from “Futuresource Consulting’s Audio Tech Lifestyle”.

Analysts there say Gen Z is largely to thank for the boost in sales.

Nearly 60% of Gen Z music fans say they like the aesthetic of records, and 37% say they use vinyl to decorate their homes.
