Coroner identifies woman, infant killed in wrong-way Christmas Eve crash

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A young woman and her infant were killed in a wrong-way crash on Christmas Eve.

According to the Lexington County Coroner’s Office, 24-year-old Gloria Martinez Alonso and one-year-old Elisa Martinez died at the scene of the crash on Platt Springs Road.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a Cadillac SUV was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of Platt Springs Road when it collided head-on with  Alonso’s Ford Focus that was traveling the right way.

The crash remains under investigation.
