House Judiciary Committee debating Student Physical Privacy Act

 

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– South Carolina lawmakers are discussing a measure that would dictate who can use what bathroom at state supported schools.

The House Judiciary Committee is debating the ‘Student Physical Privacy Act‘.

The proposed law would require all men’s and women’s restrooms and locker rooms to be used only by those who are biologically male or female.

The measure includes penalties for schools who do not comply with the rule including loss of funding.
