TSA set to roll out $45 dollar fee for air travelers with no REAL ID

(WOLO) (CNN)– An important reminder for air travelers.
The TSA says it is alerting travelers to a new $45 fee, set to take effect February 1,2026.
The fee will affect those without REAL IDs or other accepted forms of identification.
Officials also warn travelers, that if they don’t have an acceptable form of ID, to arrive two hours before their flight’s boarding time in order to get through security checkpoints.

Per a release from the TSA:

“TSA ConfirmID will be an option for travelers that do not bring a REAL ID or other acceptable form of ID to the TSA checkpoint and still want to fly,” said Senior Official Performing the Duties of Deputy Administrator for TSA Adam Stahl.
