Sister stabs brother in Alcolu, no charges filed

ALCOLU, S.C. (AP) — Clarendon County deputies are investigating a weekend stabbing that left a 56-year-old man dead.

Authorities said Leroy Cantey was killed around 1a.m. Sunday after breaking into his sister’s home earlier in the evening.

Investigators say the two siblings ended up at their mother’s home in Alcolu (AL-kuh-loo), where Cantey followed his sister into a bedroom and was stabbed. He died at the home.

Sheriff Randy Garrett says the sister told investigators the stabbing was in self-defense. Garrett says no charges will be filed while deputies look into the sister’s account.
